How to Set a Reminder for a Task in Notion
Open up Notion to the table containing the task you want to add a reminder to. Make sure your table has at least one column with a “Date” property type as this is where you set up the reminder.
Click on the “Date” cell in the row of the table to bring up the date picker.
You should now see the date picker field. If you just want to set a reminder for a specific day with no specific time, simply click on the “Remind” drop-down menu button.
You will be presented with the following reminder options:
- None
- On day of event (9:00 AM)
- 1 day before (9:00 AM)
- 2 days before (9:00 AM)
- 1 week before (9:00 AM)
Select one of these options to set your reminder for the table item in Notion.
You should now see your reminder set in the date picker and on your Notion date field for this item in your Notion table.
Setting a Custom Reminder Time for a Task in Notion
But what if you want to set a specific custom reminder time for your task? No problem, Notion has got you covered.
Click on the date field for the task you want to set the reminder for. This will bring up the date picker. You should notice an “Include time” toggle button underneath the “Remind” option. Toggle the “Include time” on.
At the top of the date picker, you should now notice a time option. Click on the time and set the time of your task (note: not when you want the reminder but when you actually will do the task).
You should now see a time for doing the task. Now click on the “Remind” drop-down.
You should see when your reminder will appear. In the case of our example above, our task is scheduled for 1:30pm and we will receive a reminder for it 15 minutes before it is due which is 1:15pm.
You should now see your task with the due date and time indicated and the reminder icon indicating that this task has a reminder set.
