Todoist is one of the most powerful task manager out there. One of the things that makes it so special is its ability to integrate to other services. Google Calendar is one such service. Google Calendar is the most popular calendar service and, if you are a Todoist user, integrating Todoist with Google Calendar allows you to bi-directionally sync your Todoist tasks with your Google Calendar. This guide will teach you how to do it quickly and easily.

So how do you integrate Todoist with Google Calendar? Listed below are the steps required to integrate Todoist with Google Calendar:

  1. Open Todoist
  2. Click on your Avatar in Todoist in the upper-right hand corner of the Todoist window
  3. Select “Integrations” from the menu
  4. Click “Connect Calendar” button in Google Calendar section
  5. Sign In to Google
  6. Click “Allow” button to allow Todoist to access your Google Calendar
  7. Click “Agree” to allow Google Calendar to access your Todoist account
  8. Configure settings in the “Connect to Google Calendar” menu and click “Connect”
  9. Your Todoist account is now linked to your Google Calendar account

Now let’s get started with the tutorial!

Open Todoist

To get started, open up Todoist.

Click the “Avatar” button

Next, in the upper-right-hand corner of the Todoist window, click on the “avatar” button as shown in the screenshot above to open up the configuration options.

In the options menu, click on the “Integrations” option to bring up the integrations configuration screen.

Scroll down to the “Google Calendar” section of the Integrations menu. Click the “Connect calendar” button.

The Google sign-in screen will appear. Select the Google account that you want to use Todoist with.

The Google Calendar permissions screen will appear. Click “Allow” to give Todoist permission to access your Google Calendar account.

The Todoist permissions screen will appear. Click “Agree” to allow Google Calendar to access your Todoist account.

The Google Calendar connection configuration menu will appear as shown in the screenshot above.

Take time to go through each of these settings to see the available options. For the purposes of this tutorial, I will change the following four (4) settings:

  • Sync -> changed for all projects to a specific project
  • Todoist Project -> Inbox
  • Google event duration for new Todoist tasks -> from 60 minutes to 30 minutes
  • Completed Todoist tasks -> Changed to are removed from Google Calendar

Your Google Account is now connected to Todoist

You should now see that your Todoist project(s) are now connected to the Google Calendar you specified earlier.

Open up Google Calendar and navigate to the calendar that is connected to Todoist.

You should now see the Todoist tasks that have assigned due dates in Todoist show up in your Google Calendar. You can change the due dates and times and they will update in Todoist.
