How To Fit A Table On One Page In Google Docs – Complete Guide

I recently found a great way to fit a table on one page in Google Docs, which I’d share here. 

  1. Select the table you’d like to resize. 
  2. Click Table Options on the toolbar. 
  3. A new pane named Table Properties opens on the right. 
  4. Click on Row and change the dimension of the row height. 
  5. Click on Column and change the dimension of the column width. 
  6. Repeat the process until the table fits on one page.

There are two ways to fit a table onto one page in Google Docs, and it’s up to you to choose between them. When the table extends to several pages, you need to adjust the width and height. 

How to Fit a Table on One Page in Google Docs Using Table Properties

  1. Select the table you’d like to resize. 
  2. Click Table Options on the toolbar. Alternatively, you can also right-click on a cell and select Table Properties.

3. A new pane named Table Properties opens on the right. 

4. Click on Row and change the dimension of the row height.

6. Repeat the process until the table fits on one page. 

How to Fit a Table on One Page in Google Docs Using Cursor to Adjust Cell Width and Height

  1. Select the table you’d like to resize. 
  2. Hover your cursor between two rows or two columns. You can see the cursor changing to a new symbol containing two parallel lines with arrows on both sides.

Why Is My Table Off The Page In Google Docs 

A table can go off the page in Google Docs when it’s copied and pasted from a different program without formatting it appropriately. The perfect solution is to resize the column width to get the table on the page. 

Remember, you don’t have to delete the page or the table when it goes off the page.
